Apply for community grant: Academic project (gpu)
Dear Hugging Face Team,
I am writing to request a GPU grant for my project "Aquabotica_Chatbot" (https://huggingface.co/spaces/Abhikhade/Aquabotica_Chatbot), which is dedicated to supporting farmers and aquaculture practitioners.
My chatbot leverages RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology with over 40 specialized documents, including research papers and books on agricultural and aquacultural practices. The system is designed to provide reliable, evidence-based advice to farmers by citing the specific source material (chunk/author/research paper/book) for each recommendation.
The chatbot is currently running on CPU-only resources, which significantly limits its capabilities and performance. This restriction prevents me from expanding the knowledge base and serving more users efficiently.
With GPU resources, I would be able to:
Embed a larger and more diverse collection of documents covering various aquaculture practices
Improve response time and overall user experience
Scale the service to reach more farmers who need accessible agricultural expertise
Enhance the retrieval quality for more accurate and relevant information
This project aims to democratize access to specialized agricultural knowledge for farmers who may not have easy access to expert advice. By providing free, reliable guidance based on scientific literature, the chatbot can help improve farming practices, increase yields, and support sustainable aquaculture.
I believe this project aligns with Hugging Face's mission to democratize AI and create tools with positive social impact. The GPU grant would enable me to significantly enhance this free service for an underserved community.
